More than 100 teams have registered with DonorUA for Teams, 52 of which joined after DonorUA won the Act to Support acceleration program from the Eastern Europe Foundation with EU support.
“Forming communities is a natural wish for people, but blood donors don't always quickly find like-minded individuals or motivate acquaintances to donate blood. We provided people with a tool to simplify this mission, and it works. To date, members of our platform's teams have donated blood over 3,400 times and held more than 60 events. Recently, we received our first request to hold a Corporate Blood Donor Day event from a non-business team,” says Iryna Slavinska, co-founder of DonorUA and President of the NGO “All-Ukrainian Association of Blood Donors.”
The largest DonorUA for Teams hubs are in Kyiv, Lviv, Vinnytsia, and Kharkiv. However, most of the teams that have joined do not have a single location and unite donors from different cities in Ukraine. Among them, six teams are business communities, and 44 are initiative donor groups based on football clubs, educational institutions, etc.
In October 2023, DonorUA was one of 10 teams whose project won the Act to Support acceleration program from the Eastern Europe Foundation with EU support. We received a grant to refine the gamified DonorUA for Teams tool, which helps create and develop a community of blood donors.
DonorUA for Teams is a solution for team and corporate blood donation. It is useful for organizations of any scale to unite active and potential donors into communities. The system can be used by companies, governmental and public organizations, volunteer and other initiative groups, sports teams, or creative associations—any communities ready to join the donor movement together.
With DonorUA for Teams, you can create your own donor community, join an existing one, and organize a Corporate Blood Donor Day event for your company to enhance your social contribution. The system allows you to track the activity of the team and each of its members, create sub-teams that can compete with each other, set goals to meet a specific portion of the blood needs of a city, region, etc., and monitor the achievement of these goals and the contribution of all participants.
The technical solution for DonorUA for Teams is developed by DonorUA with the support of the Act to Support acceleration program of the “Phoenix” project, implemented by the Eastern Europe Foundation with funding from the European Union.
